Life in Nevada

Nevada is the 7th largest state in the United States, but also one of the least populated. The 3 million residents of NV, primarily live in Las Vegas, Reno, and Carson City.

The Las Vegas Strip is home to the largest number of concentrated hotel rooms in the world and is known as the “Entertainment Capital of the World”.  Foodies from all over the world come to Las Vegas for a variety of fine dining experiences.  A night out on the strip can vary from a Cirque de Soleil show, visiting the Mob Museum, any number of night clubs, or a concert at one of the many hotel venues.

Las Vegas is also home to many professional sports teams, including the Vegas Golden Knights (hockey), The Las Vegas Raiders (American football), the Las Vegas Aces (basketball), The Las Vegas Aviators (baseball), and the Las Vegas Aces FC (American soccer).

Lake Mead is a short drive from the Las Vegas strip, where you can enjoy swimming, water skiing, fishing, and camping.  Hoover Dam is a major tourist attraction, with nearly a million people touring the dam each year.

Outdoor adventures can also be found in several national and state parks not too far from Las Vegas.  Red Rock Canyon National Conservation, Mt. Charleston, and Valley of Fire are just some of the closest areas to enjoy hiking, rock climbing, and biking.

Reno is in the NW corner of Nevada, along the Nevada-California border, and is about 20 miles from Lake Tahoe.  It is know as the “Biggest Little City in the World”.

Similar to Las Vegas, Reno is home to many hotels/casinos, and has a busy night life. Living in Reno, you can experience all 4 seasons, with unlimited outdoor recreation activities in the area mountains and at Lake Tahoe, with adventures for all ages and abilities.
