    Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group is seeking an accomplished, experienced neonatologist to join our 14-member division, providing outstanding care to newborns at two different hospitals.  The level IIIC NICU at Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women & Children (KMCWC) is a 74 room, 84-bed NICU located in Honolulu, HI.  KMCWC is a teaching hospital at the University of Hawai‘i John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), including residency training and a joint neonatal fellowship with Tripler Army Medical Center.  Candidate will be involved in, but not limited to:  clinical patient care including ECMO, mentoring, program development, research and/or quality improvement and professional education.

    Candidate must:

    • Be board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
    • Eligible for Hawai‘i Medical License
    • Hold a current unrestricted Federal DEA certificate
    • Have recent experience caring for newborns with congenital heart disease (pre- and post-operative) and ECMO

    For more than 100 years, Kapi’olani has been committed to providing exceptional care to Hawaii’s women and children.  Under the supervision of board-certified Neonatologists, the hospitalists provide direct patient care for all NICU patient populations.  The role of the hospitalist includes primary data gathering and physical assessment, participation in rounds with formulation of plans and direct communication with families on a daily basis.  Hospitalists are expected to become proficient in procedures, including airway management, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, basic ECMO management and ventilator management.  This position includes affiliation with the University of Hawaii, John A.     The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine has initiated a nationwide search for an innovative academic pediatric neonatologist to serve as the Chief of the Division of Neonatology. The Chief will have oversight responsibility for the newborn intensive care units (NICU) at the University of Utah Hospital, Primary Children’s Hospital (PCH), and Intermountain Medical Center. The Division Chief will define and execute the strategy needed to fulfill the mission of providing outstanding neonatal care, performing high-quality neonatology research, and educating future neonatologists and healthcare professionals. 

    The Division Chief will lead the Division’s growing and thriving group of faculty physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and other members of the care team in high quality, fiscally-responsible care delivery that serves an extensive area of the intermountain west. As the Chief for Neonatal Services and Neonatology, the individual will be responsible for overseeing the planning and directing of clinical operations and the development of neonatal services and neonatology at multiple units, as well as collaborating with Neonatal system leads in the Intermountain Healthcare System. Clinical operations include three NICUs with total bed capacity of 152. All invasive and non-invasive ventilatory modalities are available at all three NICUs. The level IV NICU at PCH provides all medical and surgical sub-specialty support; including common problems associated with prematurity, pulmonary hypertension of the newborn, severe chronic lung disease, liver and intestinal failure, and a broad array of congenital anomalies. Neonatal ECMO support is an integral part of our care for the most critically ill infants.

    The successful candidate will be also be a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics with subspecialty certification in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine; will have a minimum of 10 years leadership experience in population-based high quality care, medical management, complex system management, clinical quality improvement and strategic planning; and an outstanding record of achievement in an academic medical center as a clinician, educator, investigator and academic medical administrator. The selected candidate must meet the requirements for appointment as Associate Professor or full Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine on the Clinical or Tenure Track.

    St. Luke’s Neonatology in Idaho is seeking NNPs to join 11 BC Neonatologists and 16 NNPs to assist with coverage of our four St. Luke’s NICUs. 

    St. Luke’s has facilities located throughout southwestern and central Idaho. This employed-provider practice covers the largest and most comprehensive NICU in the state at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Boise, where we care for up to 61 critically ill newborns along with a comprehensive team of pediatric subspecialists.  The Boise NICU is Level 4 (minus cardiac surgery and ECMO) and has an ADC of 37 with 750 admissions per year. The St. Luke’s Magic Valley NICU in Twin Falls (Level 3) has beds for up to 18 infants, and the St. Luke’s Meridian NICU (Level 2) has an additional 12 beds. Our newest Level 2 NICU in Nampa has 15 NICU beds, 7 of which are an innovative Family Care Suite design which allows for infants requiring NICU care to remain in the same room in which the delivery occurs, thereby avoiding separation of the infant and family.

    The University of Washington Department of Pediatrics and Seattle’s Children’s Hospital are seeking an academic pediatrician skilled in visionary, inclusive leadership to lead a nationally recognized division and academic program in Neonatology.     The Division oversees direct and consultative care as well as provider education and support in the five state WWAMI region. This large division of 43 faculty neonatologists manages 2 level IV NICUs (84 beds) and 3 level III NICUs (81 beds). In addition to staffing the level IV and III NICUs, division APPs and neonatal hospitalists also staff 5 level II NICUs (28 beds) with oversight by division neonatologists, for a total of 199 NICU beds. Division neonatologists also participate in a growing regional telehealth service. Faculty are actively engaged in teaching, scholarship, grant funding and collaborative research programs that include focused areas of study in neonatal brain development and neuroprotection, ethics, health professional simulation and global health. Division members have adjunct positions in departments of Neuroscience, Surgery, Global Health and the Truman Katz Ethics center, and funding from NIH, foundations, and Pharma. The Division has an outstanding fellowship training program and is responsible for the neonatology training of pediatric residents from the University of Washington.

    The division mission is to improve the outcomes of pregnancy by providing outstanding evidence-based neonatal clinical care, educating the next generation of neonatal caregivers, and advancing neonatal scholarship. The successful applicant will be responsible for oversight of clinical care and education in all sites, faculty development and retention, and advancing the national stature of the program with visionary leadership and innovation. Appointment as full time Associate Professor of Pediatrics (without tenure due to funding) or Professor of Pediatrics (without tenure due to funding) at the University of Washington School of Medicine, will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievement. This is a multi-year appointment over a 12-month service period position, July 1-June 30. Anticipated start date is Spring/Summer of 2022. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

    Qualifications

    Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, nationally-respected neonatologists, strong administrative skills, a track record for successfully mentoring junior faculty in their scholarly pursuits, and an established research program that includes a demonstrated ability to attract research funding.

    The successful candidate will also have an MD, DO (or foreign equivalent) and be certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in neonatal-perinatal medicine. Pediatric residency and Neonatology fellowship also required.

    In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

    The Division of Neonatology at the University of Utah (U of U) School of Medicine has openings for an Academic Neonatologist. The Neonatologist will provide clinical care for neonatology patients, and will share in night call and weekend responsibilities at each of the Division’s three Level III/IV Newborn Intensive Care Units (U of U Hospital, Primary Children’s Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center). Initial expectation is approximately 18 weeks of clinical service time annually. Of specific interest, are individuals with interest and/or experience in point of care ultrasound, simulation training and education, telehealth, and clinical research. Active clinical programs include ECMO, whole body hypothermia, NeuroNICU, perioperative care and all aspects of neonatal critical care.

    The Neonatologist will also be expected to pursue scholarly research including individual or collaborative research, grant development and written/oral presentations of research, with mentoring support. Opportunities for collaborative research exist within the Division, as well as throughout the medical school and University for bench, translational and clinical areas of investigation. Currently, the Division is a member of the Neonatal Research Network.

    Qualified candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and must possess the required skills to conduct research activities. Experience and/or interest in simulation modeling is preferred. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    Our team currently consists of 17 APPs covering 4 different facilities along with 20 Neonatologists.

    Our Advanced Practice Providers work collaboratively with the Neonatologist providing comprehensive care for the most critically ill and convalescing neonates and their families, following established, evidenced based practice.

    This new and fast-growing division at Phoenix Children’s Hospital currently includes 4 facilities:

    •  33 bed AAP designation Level 4 referral NICU with plans for expansion 
    •  72 bed Level 3 delivery center
    • 28 bed Level 2 delivery center 
    • 12 bed level 2 delivery center with an expansion to a 60 bed Level 3 NICU in a brand-new mother-baby tower to open by 2023.  

    All subspecialties work collaboratively within the NICUs and the delivery center NICUs offer opportunities to attend high-risk deliveries and perform procedures within their scope of practice.  Services include, but not limited to, ECMO, HFOV, iNO, and whole-body cooling.

    Our integrated NICU team includes nursing, respiratory therapy, case management, social work, dietician, lactation, pharmacy, PT/OT.  

    Shift Requirements:  8-, 12-, 16-, and 24-hour day and night shifts, weekend and holiday rotations (all in house)

    (1) Neonatal Hemodynamics Focus –

    For this position, applicant should have undergone advanced training in neonatal hemodynamics, with experience in targeted neonatal echocardiography (TnECHO). The appointee will provide neonatal hemodynamic consultation service, contribute to undergraduate/ postgraduate teaching, conduct research and assist in administrative duties in the TnECHO program.

    BC Women’s Neonatal Division is committed to becoming a centre of excellence in Canada for TnECHO training and research. The program, in partnership with the Division of Cardiology, aims to train our next generation of neonatologists with in-depth understanding of neonatal hemodynamics, and become future leaders in clinical care, teaching and research. The successful applicant should be in alignment with the above goals and would be expected to join the current program members as active and productive participants in local, national and international hemodynamnic academic collaborations.

    (2) Neonatal Follow Up Focus –

    This position will include a leading academic role in the Neonatal Follow-Up Program. The Neonatal Follow-Up program was established in 1983 to evaluate short and long-term results of perinatal/neonatal intensive care by sequential clinical and neuro-developmental assessments, to ascertain impairment early and promote early intervention to minimize the severity of perinatally acquired disability, promote and carry out research to further knowledge of the long-term effects of perinatal and neonatal management and provide an educational experience in developmental assessment and the long-term effects of perinatal/neonatal intensive care for learners in perinatal/neonatal care training programs, as well as learners from Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, and Psychology.

    The Neonatal Follow-Up Program is multidisciplinary and provides comprehensive age appropriate assessments to children across most of British Columbia and the Yukon. It is recognized internationally for its contributions to research and neonatal follow-up leadership.

    The successful candidate will be offered a position in the Division of Neonatology at Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia and will be recommended for a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics, UBC.
