District VIII Founders Education Foundation Fund:
In 2006, a “Gift Agreement” document was drafted and approved by a unanimous vote of the District VIII Council and became a legal document. This established the “Founders Education Foundation Fund” and provided binding rules for the receipt and disbursement of funds for the educational purposes laid out in the document, and consistent with the educational mission of the District.
As a safely invested endowment, and after an initial fund raising goal is met, it is anticipated that a specified portion of the annual investment proceeds will be applied primarily to the cost of bringing neonatal fellows, and other disciplines in training, to the annual conference. Currently active trainee support from the District is in excess of $10,000 per meeting. The ultimate goal is for this and expanded fellow and trainee support be fully funded by the Foundation and that it be fully self sustaining. This goal can only be met with your help and kind donations to the Education Fund.
What is a Founder?:
Founders were the inception of the District, both literally and figuratively. But not only are those who were instrumental in the formation of the organization founders, there are others who have made significant contributions to the development, growth, sustenance, leadership, and daily running of the organization since inception. As time goes on many new Founders are, pun intended, found. After hard work and commitment to the goals and mission of the District, YOU could be a Founder too !
